The Specialty Technology Lab features technologies that are rare or require special handling. It is currently home to the Legacy Technology Collection, which features operable (and non-operable) computing technologies from the 1970s through early 2000s, as well as a small collection of early visual and photographic devices that mimic motion, three-dimensionality, and other optical effects, from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries. 

These are non-circulating holdings, but smaller portions of the collection can be used in class demonstrations in Hesburgh Library classroom spaces with advanced notice.

Access is available through prior arrangement with a member of the center.
